Ironman 2007 - Go Team!

Sunday, October 29, 2006

It was a good training week of 2hrs 15minutes of swimming (5900 yds), 4hrs of biking (59.6 miles), 3hrs 40minutes of running (24.5 miles) and 2hrs of core training (nearly 12 hours total). It felt good to step up the running a bit since I was feeling negligent in that area. After running 30-60 miles per week for several years I was missing it due to the increase in biking and swimming, so this week I tried to make a little more time for it.

My goal this coming week is to keep the training on an even keel and publish some information about a very special friend named Dottie. Tune in during the week to hear her story.

I got my first on-line donation today from Andrea Lang at Finis! She made the bar move on my donation website (see the "My Ironman Site" link) - Yay! Thank you Andrea.

This is the finish of Barb's Race on August 12, 2006. It was my "test" 1/2 Ironman distance race before signing up for the Ironteam. I competed very conservatively and was not even sore the next day so it was great. And no, I was not last in my age group for the bike portion (my secret goal for the day).

Thanks for checking out my blog! This is all new to me so don't be too critical... it's a work in progress, just like my Ironman training.
